Welcome to the Guidance and Counseling Site
We hope you find it a convenient and useful resource. The tabs you see to the left were created to streamline information that is helpful for you: the students and families of Barnesville High. We will be updating information on these topics frequently throughout the year.
Mr. Gylland, School Counselor:
Hi! My name is Kyle Gylland and I am the school counselor for grades 7 through 12 at Barnesville High School and am beginning my 27th year here. Prior to Barnesville, I was at Norman County West and Mora Public Schools. I completed my master's degree in school guidance and counseling, through NDSU, in 1995. In addition, I taught social studies, coached basketball, track and field and cross-country. Currently, I teach driver education outside of the school day. My wife, Jennifer, teaches senior high vocal music and we have four children who have graduated from Barnesville Public Schools. I really enjoy getting to know students and helping them as they move through junior high, high school and on to life after graduation!
Current Counseling Intern:
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Alme, and I am excited to be completing my internship at Barnesville High School this fall! Originally from Fargo, ND, I am a current graduate student at North Dakota State University pursuing my master's degree in Counselor Education (specifically in School and Clinical Mental Health Counseling). Before becoming a Bison, I graduated from Concordia College in 2018 with a major in English literature and minor in psychology. When I'm not working with students or learning, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and practicing yoga. I'm looking forward to getting to know the students at Barnesville High School!
