• Operating Levy

Questions 1 and 2 ask voters to approve a new operating levy to help stabilize the district’s budget and maintain essential student and classroom support.

The additional funds would enable the district to maintain small class sizes, enhance career and technical education, retain top teachers and staff, and prevent cuts to academic programs, health services, sports, and extracurricular activities.

If approved, these questions would result in a property tax increase of $339 per year for a home with an average market value of $265,000 within the Barnesville School District, which equates to about $28.00 per month.

    Capital Project Levy

Question 3 asks voters to invest in a new capital project levy, to help provide necessary dollars for the district’s technology and curriculum for students.

The additional funds will enable the district to continue with technology upgrades, including student iPad devices and classroom technologies. It would also allow for a 7-year curriculum review cycle to keep all K-12 educational materials current.

If approved, this question would result in a property tax increase of $50 per year for a home with an average market value of $265,000 within the Barnesville School District, which equates to about $4.00 per month.

***Question 1 must pass in order for Question 2 to be approved, while Question 3 is independent of the first two.
